SHANNON & CALVIN COSTA RICA BEACH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Shannon and Calvin decided on one of Costa Rica’s top wedding planners, Martina Matheos and Laura Sibley, from Liquid Weddings and chose the Langosta Beach Club, situated right on the beach on the road between Tamarindo and Langosta as their Costa Rica destination wedding, both wedding planner and wedding venue are on Stories Wedding Photographypreferred vendors list.  The Langosta Beach Club is set in a tropical paradise, under the swaying Tamarindo trees in beautiful Playa Langosta and an absolutely perfect place for a memorable destination wedding.  Calvin’s parents have a vacation home in Tamarindo, so Shannon and Calvin have been coming to Costa Rica for years and why they chose Tamarindo for their wedding.  More than 60 people traveled from Canada to Costa Rica for the wedding and this past winter being one of the coldest winters on record, I am sure a welcome relief from the bitter cold from where they call home.

The professional wedding photographers started by capturing shots of Calvin and Shannon getting ready separately in their rooms which is how the wedding photographers start a wedding shoot day. This allowed them to capture some great photos of Shannon’s beautiful white bridal gown and lovely shoes, the wedding rings, and some spectacular photos of Shannon dressed in her gown before departing for the Langosta Beach Club where the wedding ceremony was to be held.

A great location for a wedding story:

The Langosta Beach Club was decorated in a turquoise, white with a splash of pink scheme, all the centerpieces vases were made of turquoise painted recyclable tin cans wrapped with colorful ribbon with a simple medley of gorgeous white flowers to keep the costs down but also provide the funky, colorful approach to offset the white lounge furniture and coffee bulb grid lighting added to the Langosta Beach Club’s pool area for the reception.  A natural bamboo four post Altar arch incorporated a watercolor pattern of butterflies and flowers  fabric draping the top to instill a bohemian approach, overlooking the Pacific ocean.  The wedding procession consisted of an adorable flower girl with a rustic basket filled with pink and white rose pedals, the bridesmaids and groomsmen and finalized with the lovely bride and her parents as Calvin and the guests looked on in anticipation. It was a lovely ceremony by the wedding officiant Jeff as Shannon and Calvin exchanged wedding vows and finalized it with a kiss.

After the ceremony the wedding photographers captured shots of all the family and friends with the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Bass and then some incredible beach photos of Shannon, Calvin,  the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and finished with some special shots of Shannon and Calvin with the setting sun, some of my personal favorites because of unique lighting and silhouettes that are only created at this time of day.  Once these moments were captured Shannon and Calvin proceeded to the reception area where they were greeted by wedding toasts followed by the cupcake tower, which also had a tablecloth with the butterflies and flowers to incorporate washes of color for a softer Bohemia approach to compliment the more bold arty decor in the reception accents.  They feed each other some savory cupcakes made by Victoria Zoch and finish with the first dance; a flawless and superb wedding that will be immortalized with excellent wedding pictures.
