Shannon and Robert had a wonderful Costa Rica destination wedding at the Villa Deevena located in Playa Negra, Los Pargos. The Villa Deevena is a small distinctive hotel located in the Northwest Province of Costa Rica called Guanacaste, where you’ll find a pristine tropical landscape, natural untouched beaches, spectacular sunsets, and howler monkeys calling from the tree tops. They selected the Villa Deevena as they are two foodies, and heard this was a must stop after having recently traveled to France, and were dying to lock this French restaurant location in for their wedding and felt so fortunate to have their wedding at the Villa Deevena with such an all-star chef.

Shannon and Robert were engaged the weekend prior to Christmas 2015 where Robert proposed next to a beautiful Christmas tree in Minneapolis. They came all the way from Minnesota down to Costa Rica to celebrate their special wedding day and thought they would take advantage of their pre-planned spring break trip to Costa Rica. They also extended the invite and had a total of 21 family members join them as they celebrated their special day in Costa Rica.

The day started with the photographers capturing some photos of the beautiful table settings and next capturing photos of the rings, colorful rose bouquet and Shannon getting ready for her memorable wedding day. The lush tropical gardens of the Villa Deevena was a perfect backdrop for the wedding procession where the charming ceremony took place, followed by a jaunt to Playa Negra with the newlywed couple to catch some beach and sunset photos, before heading back to the celebrations, for the speeches, cake cutting and first dance. A lovely day that will remembered for many years to come for Shannon, Robert and their family.

Shannon and Robert can’t wait to come back and visit for a future wedding anniversary! They loved nearby Tamarindo where everyone was so warm and kind and also loved the surfer vibe the beach town had to offer.
